Transition Evening - Tuesday 30th June from 5.15 to 7.00pm
On Tuesday 30th June we will be hosting our Transition Evening from 5.15pm - 7.00pm.
Between 5.15pm and 6.00pm, registration will be open and will provide you and your child with the opportunity to look around the various stalls as well as getting to meet and speak to relevant members of staff.
Your entry point into the school building is dependent upon your child’s form. The map included with your transition letter shows the entry point locations.
- 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 should enter through the Main Entrance
- 7.4, 7.5 and 7.6 should enter through the Dining Room
Both requiring you to enter the car park. There will be signs displayed as well as members of NHGS staff present to help direct.
From 6.00pm onwards, parents and carers will be in the Theatre where you will receive a talk from the Head of Main School and the Headteacher, while students spend the evening with their Student Progress Tutor (SPT) and the rest of their form group. Our SPT profiles are now available to view on our Transition website here .
Due to space constraints in the Theatre on Transition Evening, seats are limited to two accompanying parents or carers for each child. There will be a chance to ask questions at the end of the talk.
On the evening you will receive information about ParentPay, our online cashless payment system, whereby you will be able to pay £3.50, which will allow your child to experience a school dinner from the dining room on Transition Day. Alternatively, your child can bring a packed lunch. Please note we are a nut free school and do not sell drinks so a refillable water bottle is required.
We ask that you kindly park considerably on the Tuesday evening in and around the school. If you require any support with access arrangements on the evening please let school know via; transition@nhgs.co.uk . People will be walking through the car park to enter the school premises.

Transition Day - Friday 3rd July 2026
On Transition Day, Friday 3rd July, students can arrive through the main doors from 8.10am onwards with a warning bell for registration at 8.17am. A second bell will sound at 8.20am to alert students they should now be at registration, the school day will then finish at 3.00pm. Students should wear their primary school uniform and can bring a bag with a pencil case to include basic equipment; a pen, pencil, rubber and ruler. Trainers will also be required for PE.
