Medics & Oxbridge Pathways Programme
As an established provider for high achieving A level students, we are highly experienced in successfully supporting applications to highly competitive courses and universities, in 2021 almost 50% of university places were at Russell Group universities.
All students joining NHGS Sixth Form are placed onto a Pathways Programme to support them to achieve their goals following A level studies, this includes those applying to Medical related and Oxbridge courses. The following outlines the additional support provided via the Medical and Oxbridge pathways.
Medics
- Specific Medical Form with experienced tutor from the start of Year 12
- Fortnightly individual tutorials, including focused personal statement writing
- A bespoke Pathways Programme of workshops to support with applications
- Attending and leading MedSoc
- Preparation for UCAT and BMAT examinations
- NHGS alumni studying Medicine and Dentistry as mentors
- Interview preparation, including mock interview
- Work experience opportunities
- Guest speakers, from both working professionals and university students
- Support with Sutton Trust Summer schools applications
- Extended Project qualification
Oxbridge
- Specific Oxbridge Form with experienced tutor from the start of Year 12

- Guest speakers from Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London
- Experienced staff mentors who are Oxbridge graduates
