Careers and Enterprise curriculum overview for Year 10.
Pupils receive information on the range of FE and HE options available to them through presentations delivered on degree apprenticeships and studying at university.
In year 10 all students are required to practice the skills involved in gaining employment by researching, sourcing and applying for a one week work experience placement which will be held in th summer term. They have the opportunity to spend one week immersed in a career of their choice. This is a privileged opportunity for students which not all schools provide. We find that students are valued by the employers who also gain from having a student on placement and the students find the experience invaulable. The feedback received by employers and students is always overwhelmingly positive and NHGS places a high value on the experience for students.
Students take part in First Give which aims to inspire young people to make a positive change in society and is designed to ignite a spark of social conscience in young people.
Students are invited to a one to one Careers Conversation with our qualified Careers Advisor, Mrs Manley during Year 10 or Year 11. Students book their own appointment and so can choose when is best for them. The link to book an poointment is here
