Music & Vocal Tuition available at NHGS
We offer range of instrumental and vocal lessons;
- Woodwind
- Strings
- Brass
- Percussion (drum-kit or orchestral percussion)
- Piano
- Guitar
- Singing lessons
Singing skills are also taught as part of the Key Stage 3 curriculum and students are encouraged to join a vocal ensemble.
Lessons are delivered by a team of peripatetic teachers.
How to register for Instrumental Music Lessons
If you would like your son or daughter to receive instrumental lessons at NHGS, please read the terms and conditions and then complete the registration form here.
Please note:
- All applications must be received at least one week prior to the end of the previous term with new lessons starting at the beginning of the next full term.
- Lessons will not be delivered without an advance payment. Please see the terms and contract for payment deadlines. Information about how to pay for lessons will be provided once the contract has been signed.
- Allocation of lessons is subject to availability.
Fees and Payment
The fees for instrumental lessons are currently £597* for thirty two (32) lessons.
Payments can be spread over three terms and are payable in advance via ParentPay. A reminder of payment deadlines will be emailed to you. Up-to-date information on payment terms and deadlines is available via the terms and conditions document.

Instrument Loan and Support
The school does have a limited number of instruments which are available for students to borrow for a small loan fee of £20 per year.
If an instrument is not available, we can give you further information about the assisted purchase scheme which allows you to purchase an instrument exclusive of VAT, or we can recommend retailers who sell second-hand instruments.
Please be aware that we do not have any guitars to loan. You would need to provide your own instrument should you want to have guitar lessons.
