First Bow

First Bow

Our First Bow production takes centre stage in January and consists of 3 short shows of approximately 30 minutes each. The opportunities presented by First Bow are wide reaching - benefiting Year 7, Year 8 and Year 12 students - as well as parents and friends who get to enjoy the magnificent shows.

As part of our Sixth Form Enrichment programme, Year 12 First Bow volunteers co-ordinate and mentor a cast of budding Year 7 and Year 8 performers.

For the older students, it's a platform to express their creativity as well as shape their leadership and organisation skills.  For the younger ones it's a truly exciting experience and often their first exposure to the "authentic theatre experience" that comes from the big stage, professional lighting and sound facilities.

First Bow allowed me to have a platform on which I could present my artistic side which I wouldn’t have been able to show through my academic work. First Bow has helped me to develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and organisation. All of which can be applied to scenarios in later life. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I’m glad to have been a part of it.

First Bow was a great experience that has given me good leadership skills. It was great being able to put on a show that the younger students could take part in, enjoy, and that they could be proud to be part of.
