C&K Careers have launched a Facebook, telephone and email helpline, called Chat, to support 13-24 year olds, plus their parents/carers. This is a brand new service which has been set up for students/young people/parents/carers whereby they can phone to speak to a Careers Adviser or email them with any queries.
The service opening hours are: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, plus Thurs evening 5-8pm
The Helpline will provide information, advice, guidance and support to young people and parents. Career Advisers will be on hand to reassure, chat, help, support and signpost to others where necessary – during what is an uncertain time for parents and young people.
It will be accessible through:

Careers and Enterprise Curriculum at NHGS
During their time at NHGS students experience a rich careers and enterprise curriculum that supports their progress through education and into work. Information and guidance on careers and enterprise are delivered that ensure the school meets its responsibilities under the government’s Gatsby Career Benchmarks. The school has a resident Careers Adviser, provided by the Calderdale and Kirklees Careers Service, who is available for all students to speak to about career options and provides independent advice and guidance to students. The full range of careers activities are detailed in this section of the website and many more activities take place as and when the opportunity for students arise.
Careers Activities by Year Group:
Work Experience at NHGS
The work experience placement is intended to help students develop a greater appreciation of employment issues and the world of work, whilst at the same time providing an opportunity to build self-confidence and take personal responsibility for their actions. Feedback from students and placements is very positive and we know from this that both parties gain a lot from the experience. Work experience is an exciting opportunity for students at NHGS to further their knowledge of an area they are already interested in or to discover a new path they never realised might be for them. For more information relating to work experience placements please visit our Work Experience page.
