Deputy Head of Sixth Form

Mrs Jonas graduated from University of Stirling with an BA in Psychology and Sports studies in 2008. Following this she completed a PGDE in Secondary education at Edinburgh University as a PE teacher. She then went on to teach PE at a school in Scotland before joining NHGS in September 2010 as a teacher of Psychology and PE. During her time at NHGS she has supported many extra-curricular activities, including school sports clubs, particularly Girls rugby. She has led on trips to France and China and assisted on trips to Spain and Tanzania.

Mrs Jonas has held both pastoral and curricular responsibilities at NHGS. She was Enrichment Coordinator in the sixth form and progressed to a Sixth Form Year Group Leader position. In 2017 she was appointed Head of Social sciences. In addition to this, she is currently working as EPQ Coordinator and interim Deputy Head of sixth form.

Outside of school life, Mrs Jonas likes to spend time visiting Scotland and the East coast with her family and friends. She also enjoys playing netball, watching rugby, walking her dog, reading and baking with her children.
