Head of Faculty - Art, Technology & IT

Mrs Adams joined NHGS as Head of Art in 2024, and became Head of the Art, Technology and Computing Faculty in 2026. She has been a Head of Department for over ten years, in schools across London and Yorkshire, and holds a degree in Fine Art from Kingston University and a Masters in Painting from Wimbledon College of Arts, London. As part of the Extended Leadership Group, she is also part of a wider working group leading on whole school improvement.

Mrs Adams is passionate about pushing and challenging students so they are fully equipped to reach their goals, and is proud of the success of her leavers, who have gone on to study a broad range of courses such as Fine Art, Illustration, Games Design, Art History and Architecture at institutions including UAL, Cambridge, Liverpool, Northumbria, Manchester Metropolitan and York. Within the department she has organised and led a wide range of trips, including a Sixth Form Art residential to London and visits to the Hepworth Gallery, the Whitworth Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and York, as well as accompanying students on Year 9 camp, the languages trip to Nice, and UCAS events.

In her spare time she is a qualified yoga teacher and a competing powerlifter. She also loves exploring the world with her husband and young son.
