Carole Sankey’s career has been firmly rooted in education for the last 34 years.

A first class Honours Art graduate with a PGCE in Secondary education, she started her teaching career in West Yorkshire. She taught Art and Design and led departments at three large secondary schools before relocating overseas in 1997 to gain international experience at two large newly established 3-18 ‘start up’ schools.

As Vice Principal at Jerudong International School in Brunei, South East Asia, she was responsible for student progress and attainment and whole school pastoral provision. In the Middle East she was a founding member at Jumeirah English Speaking School in Dubai. A member of the 3 Schools’ Academic Council and Senior Leadership Team, she was responsible for Teaching and Learning and Standards. During her time in the Middle East, she project managed the establishment of an Art College in Dubai with overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning and design of the college, providing a Foundation Arts course for Emirati female students.
 
In 2015 she relocated back to West Yorkshire where her 2 children gained places at NHGS. Whilst currently teaching Art and Design at Bradford Girls’ Grammar School, she has been a co-opted governor at North Halifax Grammar School and has recently secured a position as Lead on Standards.

Outside of school life, her interests include being a Team Manager at Halifax Synchronised Swimming Club where her daughter represents her club at regional and National level. She has travelled widely to some remote parts of the world and enjoys planning adventurous holidays where the family can travel to off the beaten track places across the world to experience new cultures, landscapes and wildlife.
