Headteacher

Mr Deehan is an experienced Headteacher and former CEO. He has a BA (Hons) in Theology and Religious Studies and a MA in Education Leadership. He successfully led a high performing Grammar School for 10 years, founded a Multi Academy Trust and led as CEO and Executive Headteacher for two large secondary schools. He was made a Music Champion for London by the former Mayor of London, Boris Johnson and was a serving Ofsted Inspector. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts he has been a prolific writer and public speaker on educational issues. He is a keen advocate for the Arts, Social Justice and global education.

Originating from Wales he lived in London for 35 years before moving to Yorkshire to take up the post of Headteacher at NHGS, accompanied by his wife and two rescued Jack Russells. His other loves include the theatre, particularly Shakespeare, walking and reading, though not at the same time.
