Assistant Headteacher - Scholarship

Miss Kent graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Classics in 1997. Her love for words initially took her into a career in publishing, until her love for working with young people brought her to the classroom. She has taught in Suffolk and Skipton and moved to NHGS in 2008 and has held both pastoral and curricular responsibilities, and is now an Assistant Headteacher. She firmly believes that words have the power to change the world, and is passionate about equipping the students at North Halifax with the skills, knowledge and confidence to go out and make a positive difference. 

When not at NHGS, Miss Kent loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys reading, writing, rowing, gardening and cooking and is an advocate for the Performing Arts. 

Miss Kent is responsible for Standards and Progess with the remit including: 

  • Assessment, Progess and Reporting
  • Examinations
  • Quality Assurance
  • Sixth Form Provision
  • The Library
  • Stakeholder Engagement
