2020 Festival Of Christmas

NHGS Festival of Christmas - a selection of performances by the Saxophone ensemble, Sixth form Vocal quintet and the NHGS 'Virtual Choir'.

The music department wanted to bring some festive music to the end of what has been a very strange term.

In normal circumstances our vocalists would have filled the Halifax Minster with beautiful music and for many of us this is the start of Christmas. In the absence of us being able to sing and rehearse, students and staff have met virtually to rehearse two pieces and recorded our individual parts. We have been fortunate enough to be able to have two socially distanced 'bubble' ensembles - namely a vocal quintet and a saxophone ensemble from our sixth form students. I really do hope you enjoy this concert. All students and staff have risen to the challenge and produced some really good performances. Special thanks to the English department for choosing and rehearsing our readings. A huge thank you to our stage technician Miss Cunningham who has tirelessly edited everything and without whom, none of this would be possible.

Regards and best wishes for Christmas

Support the NHGS Parents' Association with a Virtual Mince Pie

The Parents' Association have always supported this magical celebration by serving mince pies, mulled wine and hot drinks in the Halifax Minster. The donations raised during the evening make a big difference to our fundraising. As you know - things are very different for Christmas 2020.

Mrs Pegg is keen to support the PA's fundraising efforts and has invited us to create this fundraising page.  We would appreciate it if you would continue your support of the NHGS Parents' Association by "buying" a virtual mince pie, a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate.
