Job Description | Person Specifiction

A well qualified and experienced teacher to take overall responsibility for all aspects of the Sixth Form. This is a key role and we are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic leader who will also be a member of the school’s Strategic Planning Group. The Sixth Form has expanded rapidly in recent years leading to the development of a new Sixth Form Learning Centre to accommodate the 340 students currently on roll.

The North Halifax Grammar School is a highly successful, co-educational selective entry Foundation grammar school for Science and Modern Foreign Languages. The Head of Sixth form is supported by Year Group Leaders for Years 12 and 13, a large group of Student Progress Tutors and dedicated administrative support.

The successful applicant must have experience of working with post-16 students and is likely to have had pastoral experience in a secondary school. He or she will have a strong public presence and a commitment to engendering self-reliance and ambition among the students.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a CRB enhanced clearance, including checks with past employers.
