TEACHER OF BIOLOGY (MPS) - Permanent Position available for September 2012 - We are seeking a well qualified and motivated graduate teacher of Biology to teach general science to Year 7 and 8 students and their specialism in Year 9 and GCSE and A level. Over half our students study separate sciences at GCSE level and the sciences are popular subjects with very good results at A level.

SCHOOL WELFARE OFFICER - Required to start as soon as possible - The North Halifax Grammar School is looking to appoint a School Welfare Officer who will take responsibility for the physical and mental welfare of students and staff within the school. The successful applicant will provide a personal counselling service for students in accordance with appropriate codes of practice and standards. They will also take the lead within the school in the administration and monitoring of First Aid and medical provision.
The post holder will support the pastoral team and the school’s PSCHEE programme, with particular regard to the personal counselling of students. They will have a relevant counselling qualification at Level 4 or equivalent and an appropriate current First Aid qualification. Experience of the education sector would be beneficial.
The post is initially on a one year fixed term contract. The terms are: Term Time only, 25 hours per week, on the APT&C salary scale, SO1 –SO2 (£24,646.00 - £28,636.00) which equates to: £14, 563.37 - £16,921.07 per annum. Starting point dependent upon experience and qualifications.

An ability to teach at all key stages is essential. The successful candidate will be joining an outstanding department.
