Calderdale Schools Sports Association
Athletics Section
A reoganisation of the athletic competitions
has been undertaken for the 2001 season. It is assumed that all eligible
schools will wish to compete, take on board the following responsibilities
and help with the smooth and efficient running of the competitions.
The following starting heights are being
used in the high jump to help speed up a traditionally slow event. It
is the responsibility of staff entering pupils to ensure that they are
capable of attaining the opening height. These heights will be reviewed
at the E.G.M.

The hurdles event have been cancelled
due to the large amount of organisation that is required. The poor quality
of hurdling that has been produced over the years raises the issue of
health ans safety and with a recent trend for insurence claims against
injury and liability it is felt that we should avoid a potentially difficult
situation.
Entries for the W.Y.Championships
- including hurdles Pb's -should be completed and handed to Andrew Smith
before the selection meeting which will take place after the Part One
Championships at 7.30pm in the Brown Cow Puplic house, Highroad Well.
All members of staff are welcome.
Failure of stafff to complete entry forms
correctly will result in pupils not being selected. Please ensure that
all information is printed and legible.
Volenteers to help with the manegement
of the Calderdale team should make themselves known to Messrs. Langhorn
and Smith.
It is anticipated that the results form
the Part I+II will be posted this year with the intension of using the
website in the future.
