Who we are...

The Parents' Association is the parent body which exists to foster and further the interests of the school. All parents are automatically members of the Parents' Association.

Events are arranged throughout the year, giving a varied programme of social, educational and fund-raising activities. Over past years, the Parents' Association has worked extremely hard and has organised many enjoyable functions such as a Craft Fayre, a Ceilidh, a Murder Mystery evening, and the regular family quiz night. In conjunction with the staff, a Fun Day and Grand Raffle were also arranged. Further fund raising activities have been the monthly Prize Draw, the bulb sale, Bag2School and car boot sales. Please contact school for further information. Help is always needed even if you don't come to the monthly meetings. In addition to organising fund raising events, the Parents' Association provides refreshments at Parents' Evenings throughout the school year.

Parents' Association Meetings

We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.45pm.

These meeting take place in the Headteachers room or the Library, so do come along to the main entrance of school.

Parents' Association Events 2008-2009

Please look on the newsletter for up to date details of news and events regarding the Parents' Association.

The next events we have planned are:-

The 2008 calendar is on sale now at £5. Click here to download an order form.

Bulb sales - Thank you to all those who bought bulbs through school. £288 was raised and hopefully this is to be matchfunded.

Bag2school - Thanks to all who sent things in. £216 was raised from this collection and again this is to be match funded.

Matched Funding Do you work for a company who donates to worthy causes? Do you know how easy this type of fundraising can be? Please enquire at work and give Helen a call to discuss how to raise money for NHGS.

Buy and Sell

A free service for parents to buy and sell school related items. See the web site for details. www.nhgs.co.uk/buyandsell

Parents’ Evenings

During these evenings, where parents meet with teachers to discuss the progress of their children, there is a refreshments stall (tea, coffee, juice and biscuits) which is organised by the Parents’ Association and “manned” by parent volunteers, for the benefit of waiting parents and staff (drinks are taken to the staff at their desks)

This needs 3 or 4 parents each evening especially for lower school evenings.

Parents Evenings 2007/08

Parents evenings are now over for this school year. A big thankyou to everyone who has helped over the 7 evenings. The parents and staff appreciate "a cuppa" during the evening, funds are raised and new friends made, so thanks to those who donated.

Would you like to be involved?

If anyone would like to help at any event or has any ideas for future events please contact Helen Simpson (Chair NHGS PA).

The Parents' Association welcomes all parents to become involved in supporting the school through its activities.

All Parents’ Association events are mentioned in the school monthly newsletter and usually require some help, so please contact Helen, or school if you can offer assistance.

Thank You
