As announced in the July newsletter, the school has the go-ahead for the construction of a new five-classroom SFLC. Planning permission for the project has been approved and the project is currently out to tender. Demolition of the old N28 and N29 classrooms will take place over the October half term and construction should start before Christmas. We expect the project to be complete by June 2008 ready for use in September 2008. The school has to raise £40,000 and so far with donations from the Parents’ Association and direct donations from parents. We are inviting parents to donate items that can be sold on E-Bay.

Where possible, the dates coincide with events at school that will be attended by parents of that year group which will facilitate transport. All items donated should be in excellent condition. Items that sell well include shoes and clothes, particularly those that have never been worn, still have labels or price tags and in the original packaging; China and porcelain which is not stained, broken or chipped; sports memorabilia, however unusual it may have a buyer somewhere in the world; unwanted gifts and toys in good condition; books, especially best sellers in good condition; modern jewellery and currency (banknotes only for any country).
