Former Students - News

50 Years CakeOn May 5th 2009 the North Halifax Grammar School celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the official opening of the school on this site in Illingworth. The school was formally opened by Sir Charles Morris, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds as the Halifax Technical High School.

To celebrate that day, students to wore clothes that are typical of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Some lessons had a 1950s and 1960s twist. Milkshakes and popcorn were available through the day to students.

We also had a school re-union for former students at the school. Thanks to all who attended the 50 th Anniversary Re-union on Saturday 27th June. It was wonderful to see so many former staff and students. Photographs from the event can be viewed by clicking here. Please email mail@nhgs.co.uk to purchase a photograph. An A4 photograph is £8.50.
