Sixth Form Application Process

External Students – We welcome applications from external students who feel they will benefit from Post 16 education at The North Halifax Grammar School.

Wednesday 9 th November 2011 – Sixth Form Open Evening – 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm.

13th January 2012 – Deadline for application forms.

References are taken from current school.

February – March 2012 – interviews with Sixth Form team in the afternoon.

August 2012 – GCSE Results Day.

Sixth Form Entry Requirements

We have a general minimum entry requirement of six GCSEs at Grade C or above which must include four at grade B or above and C grades or above in English Language and Mathematics. Equivalent vocational qualifications may be accepted for entry into the Sixth Form. Full course, Level 2 qualifications, including OCR national qualifications will count as 1 GCSE. To study Biology, Physics or Chemistry students must have studied at least Science and Additional Science to GCSE; to study Mathematics they must have studied higher tier Maths GCSE. In these subjects, students need to achieve grade B in their GCSEs.
